All of the books in this haul are either from Amazon or my local bookstore. Two of the manga are pre-owned purchases. Everything else is new.
Don’t mind the purple dot. My camera app just has that randomly now.
Comics
Avatar: The Last Airbender: The Promise
From what I can tell, this is the second omnibus in the recommended reading order. This is the library edition. There’s another version of the omnibus, but it looks like it is paperback only. This one is hardcover, and the description implies it has more content than the other version. After getting this one, I now have one through three.
What is it?
A comic omnibus of The Promise that continues the story from the TV show Avatar: The Last Airbender.
Manga
Black Cat, Vol. 20
These are out of print and tend to be expensive, so it’s a slow journey completing my collection. I’m grabbing whichever volumes I can find at a decent price, and in decent condition, whenever I find them. This volume puts me at three left. I almost have them all!
What is it?
An action adventure starring an ex-assassin gunman turned bounty hunter, and supernatural powers.
Inuyasha VIZBig Edition, Vol. 4
I’ve already read the Inuyasha manga, but I’ve never had my own physical copies. I’m working on that with these editions. It’s not a high priority, though, so I won’t be getting them often. This puts me at approximately twelve volumes out of fifty-six. Each VIZBig volume contains three standard volumes.
What is it?
A Japanese time travel adventure romance with demons.
My Happy marriage, Vol. 2
I read and reviewed volume one of this manga already. It appears to be releasing rather slowly compared to the norm. Both the light novel and manga currently only have a few volumes each in English, but I highly recommend trying the series in whichever format you prefer. It’s very good. I just hope volume two holds up. I’m not sure when I’ll get around to reading this volume, yet.
What is it?
A Cinderella inspired historical romance with paranormal aspects.
Noragami Omnibus, Vol. 5 (volumes 13-15)
I’m getting these as they release, and I have plenty to get started on whenever I feel like it. It’s just a matter of fitting them in. I have no idea when that will be, but they are on my long list of things to get to.
What is it?
An urban fantasy focused around gods and the spirit world.
Skip Beat! Vol. 48
I’m up to date on my collection for this series. It’s in my pile of things to read in the near-ish future, and I will be keeping up on purchasing the latest volumes as they come out. I’m excited to catch up on reading these. This series is one of my favorite shojo manga.
What is it?
A revenge showbiz story with comedy and romance.
Tail of the Moon, Vol. 14
One more volume after this one and my collection for the series will be complete. Once I have them all, I will add it to my read soon pile.
What is it?
A romance story about an incompetent ninja girl sent to woo Lord Hanzo.
My haul is a little small this month. This is closer to what it is usually like, though. There are only five books this month. All of these are either new or used from Amazon, or from my local book store.
Flame of Recca, Vol. 16 & 17
I’m still slowly working my way through getting the volumes for this series. These put me approximately half way through the total volume count. It looks like they might be more expensive from here on out, so they might not pop up in my hauls as frequently.
What is it?
An action adventure featuring supernatural powers and magic items with a similar vibe to Yu Yu Hakusho.
Frieren: Beyond Journey’s End, Vol. 4
I love this series. I’m a little behind on the English releases, but I’m trying to catch up. My goal is to catch up to the current releases before I watch the anime. There’s still time before that airs, and I don’t think there is a release date, yet, aside from just, “this year,” so I’m not too worried about it.
Reviews for volumes, one, two, and three, are already available.
What is it?
A fantasy story about an Elf mage coming to terms with how long her lifespan is compared to those around her.
Soul Eater: The Perfect Edition, Vol. 1
I love Soul Eater, but my first exposure was the anime. I hear the manga is significantly better. Either way, I already planned on getting the manga eventually. The perfect editions are hardcovers, and I see no reason not to get a favorite series in hardcover, so these are the ones I will be going with.
What is it?
A fantasy setting where people are trained to be warriors called meisters and wield weapons, that are actually people who become the weapon. They collect tainted souls in hopes of someday turning their weapons into their ultimate form to be used by Death himself. Sometimes this task involves saving the world.
This series is said to be in the same universe as Fire Force, which I have not yet read.
The Titan’s Bride, Vol. 1
I’ve heard good things about this series. I didn’t think it would get a localization, so I’m glad it did. If it didn’t, I was set on ordering a Japanese copy after I learned enough of the language to be able to read it. My BL collection is slowly expanding.
What is it?
An erotic, uncensored, BL isekai with a size difference theme.
Honorable mentions are blog posts about individual books, or series, that I have already read, and recommend. Some I might have already reviewed, others I might not have. I make no guarantee that books recommended as Honorable Mentions will get reviews.
In these posts, I will describe the book or series, and tell you why I recommend it.
Shop links will be at the bottom of Honorable mention posts.
About Fablehaven
Fablehaven is a five book series for children, by Brandon Mull. The first couple books are relatively standard in size, but the last few get pretty thick. I think the last volume was over six hundred pages. It’s been a bit since I read it, so I’m guesstimating.
Fae, fantasy, and mythological creatures are all real, but secret. But, over the centuries, those creatures have all been gathered in reserves as the world developed into the modern era. This is both for their safety, and the safety of the people. One of these reserves is called Fablehaven.
The main characters, Seth and Kendra, are approximately ten and thirteen at the start of the series. Again, I’m guesstimating, because it’s been a while. They go visit their grandparents on vacation, and things aren’t entirely as they seem. Through various puzzles and milk drinking, they find out their grandparents’ property is the Fablehaven reserve.
This leads to many dangerous adventures and new friends. They travel to a few of the other reserves and meet many interesting people and fantastical creatures. Seth and Kendra both develop and discover special abilities while saving the world multiple times throughout the series.
Suggestions & Things to Know
I think, when it comes to trying this series, you should read at least the first two books before making any judgement. The first and second books focus significantly on plot building as it introduces you to the hidden world of Fablehaven. Honestly, the first two are the worst in the whole series. They aren’t bad, but the last three are significantly better. Definitely give the series some time to get going.
People die in this series. It’s uncommon in children’s books, but it happens in this series, so here is your warning on that.
There’s no real romance. Seth is basically too young to be interested in girls. Kendra has crushes, but nothing serious, as is appropriate for her age. I don’t think anyone can honestly label the series as a romance. It’s just not.
If you don’t like the trope of a character doing stupid things just to progress the story, there might be a problem. That is one of the downsides to the series. Seth seems to do stupid things just to do stupid things, or just because if no one does said stupid thing, the story won’t progress. That’s probably the biggest weakness in the plot. For example, the cover of Rise of the Evening Star. I will give you one guess what happens.
Why I Recommend
I personally love this series. It makes me feel things when I read it, and that’s usually a tell for a good book. If it can make you feel something, it’s usually good.
The characters are likeable, even the bad ones. My favorite book dragon ever, so far, is in this series.
I don’t give out perfect scores often, but when I read this series in 2020, it earned a 5/5 from me. Of course, it’s not perfect, but I enjoyed it that much.
Sequels
Fablehaven has a sequel series called Dragonwatch. I have yet to read it, but it takes place in the same world, and apparently uses some of the same characters. When I get around to reading this, I will reread Fablehaven first, so both series will be (re)read and reviewed eventually.
Companions
There are two companion books that go along with Fablehaven and Dragonwatch. I have not yet read these either, so I do not have an official reading order recommendation for where they should go. Based on research, though, I think The Caretaker’s Guide to Fablehaven should be read after the Fablehaven series. And, I think, Legend of the Dragon Slayer: The Origin Story of Dragonwatch can be read before Dragonwatch, if you want.
Where Can I Buy It?
Here are some assorted links for where you might be able to find your own copies of Fablehaven and Dragonwatch, as well as the companion books.
Most of the books in this haul are the first volumes to series of which I already have some other books. Obviously I can’t exactly start reading a series without the first volume. All of these are pre-owned purchases through Amazon.
And I Darken by Kiersten White
This is volume one of a trilogy. I already have books two and three, because the series was on my list and I found them cheap at the discount store. Obviously I couldn’t start the series without this first book, though.
What is it?
A fantasy romance of some sort? I’m not sure. I just know it’s on my list, because it interested me at some point.
East by Edith Pattou
I’ve heard good things about this book. The bargain overstock store had the sequel for cheap, so I grabbed that a while ago just in case I end up liking it. I still needed a copy of this one before I could read it.
What is it?
Supposedly a retelling of something called East of the Sun and West of the Moon, and involves a girl leaving home with a polar bear to go to a castle.
Ever the Hunted by Erin Summerill
This is volume one of the trilogy Clash of Kingdoms. I already have volume two, so I can’t exactly read that without this one first. Volume two was something I found randomly at a discount store. The series was already on my to-read list, and if I ended up liking it, it was cheaper to just grab the second book there than to have to order it online later.
What is it?
A fantasy romance of some sort where the main character’s father has been murdered and she must go on an adventure to find the murderer. At least, that’s what the description implies.
Omens by Kelley Armstrong
I’ve been trying to get my hands on this for a while. I tried being patient. The local library has a digital copy, but only ONE copy. It’s been seemingly eternally checked out. So, I resorted to buying a copy for myself.
I love Kelley Armstrong’s Otherworld series, so I want to try her other works. There’s a book on my shelf that contains Otherworld short stories as well as short stories for this series, so I figure why not start with this? It’s volume one of the Cainsville series.
What is it?
A mystery of some sort, maybe? A girl finds out she is adopted, and that her real parents are serial killers. She then runs away from home and ends up in Cainsville, Illinois. From the sounds of it, things get weird from there.
The Princess Diaries by Meg Cabot
This is volume one of the series The Princess Diaries. I already have volumes two and three, because I found them cheap at a bargain overstock store. Now that I have this one, I can start reading the series whenever I feel like it.
This book was kind of gross when it came in. It looked like it had blood stains and some gunk on it, but I managed to get most of it off with a cotton ball and some rubbing alcohol. What do people do with their books to get them covered in blood (or blood-like substance)?
What is it?
Seems like a coming of age series regarding a teen princess, possibly with romance?
This haul also contains some comics, because I figure they are similar enough to share the same post. Any time I get comics, they will be in the manga hauls. They will be in the manga section of the index as well whenever I review any.
All of these are Amazon purchases, except for Noragami and Detective Conan.
Comics
Avatar: The Last Airbender: The Lost Adventures & Team Avatar Tales
This is the first comic omnibus recommended to read for this series. The Lost Adventures are stories that take place during the events of the TV show. Team Avatar Tales takes place later. A reading list I looked at implied that section should be read way way later, but I doubt it matters. My guess is they were both put in this book because they can be read close together.
This is the hardcover library edition. It looks like the library editions might be the best ones to get. Some of the comics only have the library editions as hardcovers. They seem to have more content than the paperback versions, too. At least, that’s what the descriptions seem to imply.
What is it?
A comic omnibus of The Lost Adventures & Team Avatar Tales building more onto the story from the TV show Avatar: The Last Airbender.
Avatar: The Last Airbender: The Search
From what I gather, this is the third omnibus in the reading order. I got the third before the second because it was cheaper at the time. I think this one is the library edition. There’s another version of the omnibus, but it looked like it was paperback only. This one is hardcover, and the description implied it had more content than the other version.
What is it?
A comic omnibus of The Search that continues the story from the TV show Avatar: The Last Airbender.
Manga
Black Cat, Vol. 14
I only need four more volumes for this series: 15, 16, 18, and 20. They’re out of print, so my collection for these advances slowly with pre-owned copies.
What is it?
An action adventure starring an ex-assassin gunman turned bounty hunter, and supernatural powers.
Detective Conan, Vol. 2 (Japanese Edition)
This book is a late birthday gift. With this volume, I now have one through three of this series in Japanese. I like to look through them every so often to see which words and phrases I can pick out. It’ll be a while before I can actually read them, but they are good motivation to keep me learning the language.
What is it?
A mystery series in which a secret organization turns the protagonist into a child via medicine.
Flame of Recca, Vol. 14 & 15
I think there are about eighteen more volumes in this series. Slowly, but surely, I’m working my way to getting them all.
These are out of print, so I buy all of them pre-owned.
What is it?
An action adventure featuring supernatural powers and magic items with a similar vibe to Yu Yu Hakusho.
Noragami Omnibus, Vol. 4 (volumes 10-12)
I can probably start reading these any time now. As long as I don’t read them one after the other and work them into a rotation, it should be okay. I just don’t want to catch up to the release and have to wait. At this point, I’ll just add them into my rotation whenever I feel like getting around to them.
What is it?
An urban fantasy focused around gods and the spirit world.
Tail of the Moon, Vol. 13
This series is almost complete. There are only two more volumes left, and then I can put it on my list of things to read.
What is it?
A romance story about an incompetent ninja girl sent to woo Lord Hanzo.
Most of these novels are things I purchased for myself for my birthday. They are overstock items from a bargain store, so they are a little random. I like to choose books this way once in a while to try some new things I may not have seen or heard of before, or just find some things I might not expect.
The Beast Player by Nahoko Uehashi
This is volume one of a series called The Beast Player. It apparently contains volumes one and two. My copy has a sticker for a Michael L. Printz Award for Excellence in young adult literature as an honor book, so it must be good, right? The description sounded interesting.
What is it?
A fantasy about a girl who can communicate with magical beats. That was enough to sell me on it.
Mrs Frisby and the Rats of Mimh by Robert C. O’Brien
This sounds familiar and was not expensive, so I figured why not grab it. Apparently there is a movie based on it. I swear I’ve seen it, but I must have been rather young at the time, because I don’t remember anything about it. It’s also volume one of a trilogy.
What is it?
An animal story for children, possibly kind of dark.
Never After: The Thirteenth Fairy by Melissa De La Cruz
This is volume one of a series called The Chronicles of Never After. I’m not going to lie, I don’t know anything about this series. I added it to my pile when I saw the description mention a girl interacting with a character from her favorite book series.
What is it?
A fantasy adventure of some kind that has something to do with fairies and fairytales.
The Outcast by Taran Matharu
This is a volume zero prequel to the series Summoner. I have not read anything in this series, nor do I have volume one. I guess I will be starting with volume zero and working my way from there. Hopefully the series is will be equally enjoyable starting with this volume as opposed to others.
What is it?
Something involving fantasy and magic. I don’t know, it’s been a long time since I added the series to my list.
The Princess Diaries: Princess In Love by Meg Cabot
This is volume three of The Princess Diaries series. I have no idea if it’s anything like the Disney movies, but considering this series appears to be fairly lengthy, probably not.
What is it?
Seems like a coming of age series regarding a teen princess, possibly with romance?
The Princess Diaries: Princess in the Spotlight by Meg Cabot
This is volume two of The Princess Diaries series. The series is approximately twelve-ish books long, plus maybe some middle and side stories. I likely won’t be delving too deeply into things until I start actively reading the series. They didn’t have volume one at the store, so I will likely have to order that later in order to start reading these.
What is it?
Seems like a coming of age series regarding a teen princess, possibly with romance?
The Rise of Kyoshi by by F.C. Yee
This is the first volume of the Chronicles of the Avatar series, as in The Last Airbender, not the blue people. The first two are the Kyoshi novels, and the third is about Yangchen. They can be divided into sub-series by which Avatar they feature. I don’t know if there will be more than just the three novels, yet. If you’re familiar with the show, you’ve already heard of Kyoshi and Yangchen. This was given to me as a birthday gift, and I’m excited to read it. I grew up watching Avatar.
The Wolf of Cape Fen by Juliana Brandt
This one is a stand alone novel. I don’t really know anything about it. It’s one I grabbed a bit randomly.
What is it?
Sounds like a Rumpelstiltskin-like mystery adventure thing.
I didn’t expect to have enough books for any kind of haul this month. I neglected to consider my birthday. This haul contains the usual purchases for myself, as well as birthday gifts.
Light Novels
Bofuri: I Don’t Want to Get Hurt, so I’ll Max Out My Defense, Vol. 1
This is a gift from a friend. That same friend recommended this series to me initially, which led to me putting it on my wishlist. I’m aware the anime is available, but I haven’t seen it, yet.
What is it?
A funny and interesting VRMMORPG themed series.
Manga
Flame of Recca, Vol. 13
Thirty more volumes to go for this series. It’s going to be a while. This one was an Amazon order as a pre-owned copy since it’s out of print.
What is it?
An action adventure featuring supernatural powers and magic items with a similar vibe to Yu Yu Hakusho.
Frieren: Beyond Journey’s End, Vol. 3
This is a fantastic series. It does a great job portraying how elves think compared to the average person. I’m behind on volume releases, but I’ll catch up eventually. I highly recommend this if you enjoy fantasy or D&D type settings. Thankfully my local bookstore carries these, so I can get them quickly when I want them.
The reviews for volumes one and two are already available. Volume three will be up soon.
What is it?
A fantasy story about an Elf mage coming to terms with how long her lifespan is compared to those around her.
Kamisama Kiss, Vol. 1-4
I originally found this anime on Hulu, and loved it. The anime does not have a complete ending, so of course, I added the manga to my wishlist. These volumes were gifts from two people.
What is it?
A romantic comedy about a girl who takes over a shrine as its god.
Noragami Omnibus, Vol. 3 (volumes 7-9)
I’m making steady progress on obtaining these as they release. Another volume or two and I might have enough of a buffer to work them into my reading schedule.
What is it?
An urban fantasy focused around gods and the spirit world
Ouran High School Host Club, Vol. 4-5
These were gifted to me. I’m excited to be making progress on my collection for this series. It’s been on my list of things to finish reading for so long that I have to start over. I’m so glad I’ll have my own set eventually. Originally I read them by borrowing from a friend.
What is it?
A gender bend, slice of life, comedy, romance.
The Rising of the Shield Hero: The Manga Companion, Vol. 1
I’ve never had a manga labelled as a manga companion before, so I’m not entirely sure what that means. I THINK it means it’s just not the original source material. If that’s the case, then I’ve had a lot of manga companions that were not labelled as such. The original material in this case is the light novel version of the series. This book was a gift.
What is it?
An isekai featuring a poorly treated protagonist in a world similar to a video game.
Spice & Wolf, Vol. 1-3
This is the manga version of the popular light novel series, Spice & Wolf. Every volume is marked as explicit content, but upon flipping through a bit, it looks like that’s just because Holo is frequently naked. Nipples are included in the art, so they have to be more careful about the rating. These volumes were gifts.
Reviews for one through five of the light novel editions are already available, with six coming soon. Manga reviews will get done more slowly depending how frequently I get the books. I’m curious to see the differences.
What is it?
A commerce slow burn romance between a human merchant and a snarky wolf girl.
All of the books in this haul are from either Amazon or ThriftBooks.
Eleventh Grade Burns by Heather Brewer
This is volume four of the five volume Vladimir Tod series. I ordered it through ThriftBooks.
What is it?
A teen half-vampire series.
Graceling by Kristin Cashore
I received this book as a gift through Amazon. The cover is absolutely gorgeous. This is volume one of the Graceling Realm series. I’m not sure when I’ll get to reading it, but it’s been on my list for a while.
What is it?
A fantasy romance, from the sounds of it.
Kender, Gully Dwarves, and Gnomes by Margaret Weis and Tracey Hickman
This is volume two if the Dragonlance Tales trilogy, and completes my set. I got it from ThriftBooks, and it’s in better condition than I was expecting. I have a long way to go before my entire Dragonlance collection is complete. There are A LOT of Dragonlance novels.
What is it?
A Dungeons and Dragons-esque fantasy.
Return of the Dragon Slayers by Brandon Mull
This is the fifth and final volume of the Dragonwatch series. Dragonwatch is the sequel series to Fablehaven, and supposedly stars several of the same characters. I haven’t started reading it, yet, so I can’t personally say for sure. This completes my Fablehaven/Dragonwatch collection, unless something else is released later. I ordered this from Amazon to help ensure a manga did not get lost in the mail as a small package a second time.
What is it?
A fantasy adventure sequel to Fablehaven, probably revolving around the previously mentioned dragon lore.
Twelfth Grade Kills by Heather Brewer
This is the fifth and final volume of The Chronicles of Vladimir Tod, and it completes my set. I still need to get The Slayer Chronicles that goes with it. This book was a ThriftBooks order.
I’ve been ordering too many books. My wallet is crying. I’ll have to try to slow down.
All books in this haul are orders from Amazon and ThriftBooks. Yu Yu Hakusho volume two is the only one not pre-owned.
Light Novels
Spice & Wolf, Vol. 8 & 9
I am steadily working my way through this series. It’s pretty great. Reviews for volumes one through five are already up.
What is it?
A commerce slow burn romance between a human and a snarky wolf girl.
Manga
Black Cat, Vol. 17 & 19
This series is out of print, and most volumes are expensive. I found these two, by chance, for about $20 total. I wasn’t going to pass on that. There are only five more volumes remaining until I have them all. Due to the prices, this may take some time.
What is it?
An action adventure starring an ex-assassin gunman turned bounty hunter, and supernatural powers.
Detective Conan (Japanese), Vol. 1 & 3
I love Case Closed/Detective Conan. Mysteries are one of my favorite genres. I already have 1-10 in English, and I’ve seen a lot of the anime. Because I love this series so much, I figure getting them in Japanese is a good way to practice reading the language. My vocabulary isn’t big enough, yet, but having these around is a good motivator to stick with my lessons.
These are pretty cool, because as the Japanese editions, they actually have a book jacket. The cover underneath is in black and white.
What is it?
A mystery series in which a secret organization turns the protagonist into a child via medicine.
Flame of Recca, Vol. 12
I have a long way to go before I finish collecting this series. I’m only about one third of the way done. It’s out of print, so every volume I buy is pre-owned.
What is it?
An action adventure featuring supernatural powers and magic items with a similar vibe to Yu Yu Hakusho.
Tail of the Moon, Vol. 10-12
There are only three volumes remaining until I complete this series.
What is it?
A romance story about an incompetent ninja girl sent to woo Lord Hanzo.
Yu Yu Hakusho, Vol. 2
This series is one of my favorites from my childhood. I have never read it, but I used to watch the anime all the time. I also have the DVD collection and the PS2 fighting game. Volume one was gifted to me a couple years ago, so I’m only just now starting to get moving on collecting the manga.
I had problems getting this one in. At first, there were stock issues, so it was entirely unattainable. When it finally got a restock, I ordered it, and it got lost in the mail. I ended up resolving the issue by re-ordering it with another larger book in hopes the larger book would prevent the package from getting lost in the mail, like it did the first time. When it finally came in, the delivery person left it in the wrong place. I feel like I’m lucky I managed to get it at all. I swear if I didn’t re-order it with that larger book, it probably would have gotten lost again.
What is it?
An action adventure featuring supernatural powers, demons, and fighting tournaments.
I haven’t bought enough books each month to bother doing hauls for regular novels, and I haven’t been keeping track of them as well as manga and light novels. So, for roughly the past six months, I’m just going to do one massive haul to show what I’ve gotten. Think of it as one big end of the year haul.
Aurian by Maggie Furey
I’m always on the lookout for new books (new to me, not necessarily newly published) to try, so I often grab some seemingly random things if they look interesting enough. This is one of those things. I bought it from my local used book store. Or at least, I think I did. There are no stickers on it to verify.
This is volume one of a four volume series called Artefacts of Power.
What is it?
A magical fantasy adventure.
Blood Vow by J. R. Ward
This is volume two of the Black Dagger Legacy series, which is intended to be read in tandem by publication date with the Black Dagger Brotherhood. I don’t have volume one of this series, yet, because I’m not quite ready to start it. There are a few more volumes of Fallen Angels and BDB for me to finish first.
I was at my local used book store the other day and I caught this volume out of the corner of my eye. I knew what it was, just not which volume, so I grabbed it for two dollars instead of ordering online for six or more later.
What is it?
A sexy and edgy urban vampire novel that is part of a larger series/universe of books.
The Crossroads of Illys’thoph by Jean William Quantrell III
This is book two of a series called The Chronicles of Tyrfus Hillock. The series is rather new, and my family knows the author, so you should definitely check it out. It can be found on Amazon. I’ll also include a link to volume one. I don’t have reviews for these yet, but it’s on my to do list.
What is it?
A fantasy.
The Dark Glory War by Michael A. Stackpole
I’m not entirely sure, but I think I got this from my local used book store. It doesn’t have a sticker, so I can’t verify that.
This is apparently part of a series called The DragonCrown War Cycle. It’s four volumes including this one as the prequel.
What is it?
A fantasy of some kind.
Dragon’s Blood by Jane Yolen
I bought this from my local used book store. It’s volume one in a four volume series called Pit Dragon Chronicles.
What is it?
A Dragon themed fantasy.
Eight Grade Bites by Heather Brewer
This is volume one of The Chronicles of Vladimir Tod. I initially read this from the library, and enjoyed it, so I’m collecting the series to read all of it. There are only five volumes, but there is also a spin-off series. I think it’s about a vampire hunter, and it’s called The Slayer Chronicles. There are a couple graphic novels for volumes one and two of Vladimir Tod, too, but I have no interest in those.
I think I got this one from a library sale, because it is used and doesn’t have any stickers on it. As far as I know, this is a stand alone novel.
What is it?
A mystery romance.
Firelight by Sophie Jordan
I bought this one from my local used book store. It’s volume one of a series called Firelight. It appears to be a trilogy.
What is it?
A fantasy romance with dragon shifters who secretly live among humans.
Ghost of a Chance by Jayne Ann Krentz
This book was purchased at my local used book store. As far as I know, this is a stand alone novel.
What is it?
A mystery romance.
Guild Boss by Jayne Castle
I ordered this on Amazon. It’s book fourteen in the Ghost Hunters or Harmony series, which is an extension of the Arcane Society series. I did read this already, but I did not review it because I don’t want to review a series super far in. When I go back and reread the entirety of the series, I’ll do the reviews at that time.
What is it?
A paranormal romance with psychics.
Halls of Law by V.M Escalada
I honestly can’t remember where I got this one. The stickers or lack of, does not give me any clue.
This is volume one of a duology called Faraman Prophecy. I don’t know any more than that.
What is it?
An epic fantasy with military and psychic themes.
Love and War by Margaret Weis and Tracy Hickman
This is volume three of the Dragonlance Tales trilogy. I bought it from my local used book store.
What is it?
A Dungeons and Dragons-esque fantasy.
The Magic of Krynn by Margaret Weis and Tracy Hickman
This is volume one of the Dragonlance Tales trilogy. I bought it from my local used book store.
What is it?
A Dungeons and Dragons-esque fantasy.
Mister Monday by Garth Nix
This is volume one of the series The Keys to the Kingdom. It’s a seven volume series.
I picked this up at my local used book store, because I read the Abhorsen series by Garth Nix and loved it, so I want to see if I like other things he’s written. I will reread Abhorsen at a later date and post reviews for it.
What is it?
A fantasy adventure.
Ninth Grade Slays by Heather Brewer
This is volume two of The Chronicles of Vladimir Tod. I ordered this one from ThriftBooks after I bought volume three in store.
What is it?
